Spend a little time in Forza Horizon 6's Japan map and you'll realise the Soni Circuit isn't just another icon to tick off. It's a handy spot for Time Attack runs, seasonal progress, and testing whether your car setup actually works under pressure. Players chasing rewards, garage upgrades, or extra Forza Horizon 6 Credits will likely end up here sooner rather than later, especially during the Welcome to Japan activities.
What Makes Soni Circuit Worth Finding
Soni Circuit is built around lap time, not wheel-to-wheel chaos. There's no pack of AI cars diving into your braking zone and no messy first corner traffic. It's just you, the car, and the clock. That sounds simple, but it can get addictive fast. You'll brake a little earlier, carry more speed through one bend, then restart because you know you left two tenths on the table. It's the sort of event that rewards clean driving more than wild speed.
Where the Track Is on the Map
You'll find the Soni Circuit in Takashiro, up in the north-western part of the map. If you're not familiar with the area yet, look for Hirosaki Castle first. It's one of the easier landmarks to spot because of the water around it. Once you've found the castle, move your map view south and you should see the small circuit layout nearby. Drop a waypoint on it before you set off. It saves a bit of faffing about, especially if you haven't uncovered all the nearby roads yet.
Monthly Rivals and Weekly Objectives
A lot of players go looking for Soni because it's tied to the Monthly Rivals event. You don't need to be a leaderboard sweat to benefit from it either. Just completing a clean run can push your seasonal progress forward and help unlock the rewards attached to the series. The circuit also shows up in the Ultimate Driving weekly challenge with the 2020 BMW M2 Competition Coupé, where you're asked to complete three laps. Once you know where the track is, that task is pretty painless.
Getting a Cleaner Lap
The best advice for Soni is boring, but it works: don't overdrive the car. Players often lose more time by braking too late than by being cautious. Do a few gentle laps first. Learn where the car gets unsettled, where you can cut in tighter, and which exits matter most. If you're tuning, keep it practical. Shorter gearing can help if the layout keeps you in lower speeds, while better tyres and balanced suspension usually matter more than raw power. Smooth hands, tidy throttle, and patience go a long way here.
Final Thoughts
Soni Circuit is easy to pass over if you're busy chasing races across the map, but it's one of the more useful places to unlock and remember. It sits south of Hirosaki Castle in Takashiro and connects directly to Time Attack, Monthly Rivals, and weekly challenge progress. It's also a great place to compare builds, try different FH6 Cars, and work on lap consistency without distractions. If you're working through the current series, make the trip there early and keep it on your radar.
